Geneva Ellen Ayers

August 26, 1921 — November 17, 2009

Our heavenly Father came on November 17, 2009 and took his child, Geneva Ellen Ayers, home with him at the age of 88. She was born in Northfork, West Virginia on August 26, 1921 the daughter of the late Lloyd Austin and Elizabeth Sue Lunsford Yates. She attended Northfork schools and was a telephone operator before moving with her family to Bluewell, West Virginia where she met and married the late Clarence William Ayers. She was a resident of Bluewell for over sixty years before entering Westwood Nursing Home in Bluefield, Virginia. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bluewell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Harry Yates, two sisters, Pat Nungusser and Elva Perriello and three nephews and two nieces. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Carol Broyles and husband Eric of Bluefield, West Virginia, Dana Bell and husband Paul of Bluewell, West Virginia. Three grandchildren Christopher Tibbs and wife Paula of Bluewell, Dr. Kevin Broyles and wife Jennifer of Roanoke, Virginia and Erica Plaster and husband Dr. Adam Plaster of Tazewell, Virginia. Three great grandchildren Chase Tibbs, Isabelle Broyles and Alexis Plaster. A sister Letha Roop County View Assisted Living in Peterstown, West Virginia. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Lacy Brooks and Rev. Ed Fisher officiating the service. Friends and family may call at the funeral home in Bluewell, West Virginia on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Carter, Nick Perriello, Paul Combs, James Williams and M.
