Dorothy Irene Wright, 80, of Rt. 5 Box 451-C Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Maples Nursing Home in Bluefield, West Virginia. Dorothy was born on September 29, 1928 in West Virginia to the late Joseph Shepherd and Eva McGhee Shepherd. She was a member of the Mowels Chapel Church and had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Edward Wright, Jr. Left to cherish her memory is two sons Billy Wright and wife Frances of Statesville, North Carolina and Eddie Wright of Bluefield, West Virginia. Three daughters Janet Gail Johnson and husband Danny of Bluefield, West Virginia, Karen Rasi and husband Jerry of War, West Virginia and Clara Jane Bourne and husband Jim of Bluefield, West Virginia. Two brothers Buster Shepherd of Ohio and Wade Shepherd of Michigan. One sister Susie Holly of Charlottesville, Virginia. Twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 1:00p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with the Rev. James Mooney officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia. Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia on Saturday, August 22, 2009 one hour prior to the service from 12:00p.m. (noon) until the time of the service at 1:00p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Grandsons and great grandsons Online memorial condolences may be sent to the Wright family at www.cravens-shires.com The Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Wright Family.
