Clarice Marie Sturges

BLUEFIELD, VA--- Clarice “Marie” Sturges, age 82, of 111 Thayer Street. Apt. 223 (Graham Manor) Bluefield, VA passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at her residence. Born March 12, 1927 at Iaeger, she was the daughter of the late Squire W. and Gertrude Lockhart Muncy. She had been a lifelong resident of the Bluefield area and was a retired clerk. She was a member of the Open Door Community Church in Baptist Valley, VA and was very active with the food pantry. Survivors include: Two sons: Ron Sturges and wife Susan of Great Falls, VA Don Sturges and wife Sherry of Richland, VA One daughter: Sparkle Bland and husband Jimmy of Salem, VA Five Grandchildren and Two Great-grandchildren One brother: Kenneth Muncy and wife Pat of Bluefield, WV One sister: Mildred Hartsock of Bluefield, VA Special friend and caregiver Gene Moseley of Tazewell, VA Several Nieces and Nephews Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Charlie McGlothin officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA where family and the men of the church will serve as Pallbearers.
