Rev. Edith A. Groseclose Lewis, age 88, of Bluefield, WV, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at The Maples Nursing Home in Bluefield. Born on February 11, 1921 in Boissevain, VA, she was a daughter of the late James Burton and Sarah Smith Groseclose. She had been a resident of Mercer County for most of her life. She was a member of the Bluefield Church of God on Cumberland Road where she formerly taught Sunday School and discipled fellow believers. She also served as a minister and evangelist throughout the community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include: 2 sons: Raymond Dalton and wife Edna of Roanoke, VA and Mickey Wilson, Sr. and wife Donna of Salisbury, NC 1 sister: Cleo Lusk of Roanoke, VA 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Brian Checchio and Rev. Shirley Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park cemetery in Bluefield. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Wade Center, P.O. Box 777, Bluefield, WV 24701.
